Fantasy Islands Activities & Tours Inc. was incorporated, founded, pioneered and established in 1983. It is a Maui based, family-Owned-and-Operated Company which provides only the best, intimate, high-quality activities and tours to our Hawaii visitors. When we say family owned and operated, Pam (Momma) was the back room accounting person, Bobby Jr. (son) manager, Jamie (Son), in charge of location, advertising and distribution, Jeremiah (son) computer technology and went on to be security officer at Yahoo!.
From the beginning, owners Bob and Pam Grossman operated the first independent Jet Ski rental business and sailing charter business fronting the Marriot, Westin, and Whalers Village condos on famous Ka’anapali Beach and went on to establish and personally operated various successful air, land, and sea activities using the experience as an activity and tour insider. Bob and Pam then branched off into guiding visitors to various quality air, land, and sea tours which were never offered by most of the major hotels.
Bob was a Coast Guard Licensed charter boat Capitan in Hawaii and a CEO of a charter helicopter company. Bob has established long time relationship with the who’s who of the activity world including the founders of the Pacific Whale Foundation, Old Lahaina Luau, Maui Down Hill, Haleakala Downhill, Pacific Jet Ski, UFO parasail, and many more.
Many say that Bob & Pam were the founders and real pioneers of the activity industry in Hawaii and were the fist Activity Company to get licensed as a Travel Agency and Real-estate company to provide accommodations. Bob and Pam brought group business to Hawaii which included groups such as “Robins Research” and in fact Fantasy Islands was the fist Destination Management Company, Ground handler on Maui. Bob was credited for becoming the first licensed independent Vacation Ownership acquisition company in Hawaii. Bob worked exclusively and successfully with various Interval Ownership companies which included, Consolidated Resorts, Vacation International, Shell Group, Embassy Vacation Resorts and many more over the years.
Bob was very successful in creating various Activity Marketing programs which helped visitors save money and enjoy first class activity experiences and helped Hawaii activity providers stay in the back by actually selling Hawaii Visitors additional activities. Bob and Pam at one point had over 100 employees and 50 Activity locations including locations at Alamo, Avis, National and hertz Rent a Car and of course Front Street.
Heather, one of seven (daughter of Bob & Pam) is now CEO of Fantasy Islands and a professional Hula Dancer/Esthetician. She has danced at nearly every Luau on Maui and traveled for many professional performances at conventions and Luau’s on all the Hawaiian Islands and the mainland. Heather knows the ins and outs of the luau business to help visitors choose the best fit for there vacation experience or for a company’s conference in Hawaii.
Heather’s Husband Kawika Regidor is a professional musician and famous Hawaii recording artist and composer. He also has entertained at all of the luaus on Maui as well as the outer islands in the night life scene. Kawika is the human juke box and performs for many private weddings, parties, and events throughout the Islands. Kawika has also traveled to many countries around the world for the Hawaii Visitors Bureau and the Maui Visitors Bureau, going to Kiribati, Singapore, Korea, China, Japan, and within the United States. Kawika is available for your wedding, anniversary, or any private party functions. He is also knowledgeable in what to do while vacationing here on Maui.
Growing up on Maui, and Oahu has opened the doors to knowing what is going on here on the islands from in inside. The seven children have had the opportunity to camp, fish, snorkel, dance, with family and friends who now grown up and own and operate some of the best activities that Maui has to offer.
